Synopsis

Fear Itself: The Fearless #10 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

After Crossbones has blown apart her cabin with a rocket, Valkyrie drags herself from the wreckage to discover that Tolor is dead and Captain America gravely injured. Val orders Dr. Strange to take Cap to safety while she faces down the monsters of the Department of Occult Armaments. She takes them all on, armed with her sword and Cap’s shield, with a special animus against the traitor Daimon Hellstrom. As she is distracted by the grisly foes, Crossbones and others find their way into the magically guarded vault and claim the hammers. They teleport out, leaving Val alone among the dead. She tortures the dying monster Innards into revealing the location of the DOA base…

…where Sin is about to use the full set of hammers to raise the Serpent’s Destroyer and devastate the world. This comes as a total surprise to Crossbones, who can’t comprehend why. Later, as he ponders the fate set before him, Valkyrie approaches from behind. The mercenary calls out the DOA troops—and Val responds with hers: the whole complement of Avengers and their allies. The battle is fierce and bloody—then Sin brings the new Destroyer to life—with her own consciousness controlling it….
