Immortal Hulk #7 Review by (October 10, 2018)

Review: An issue-long battle between Hulk and the Avengers? These are hard to screw up and our creative team comes through. The new “devil Hulk” makes this fight a bit nastier than most which allows typical superheroics to fit nicely with the current series. Cool.

Comments: Issue includes a one-page tribute to the late Marvel writer Gary Friedrich (1943-2018).

Immortal Hulk #7 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

The small town of Georgeville, Iowa is evacuated. The reason? The Avengers are fighting the Hulk nearby and it isn't going well. Ghost Rider and his car have been knocked to the center of town. A single punch scrambles Thor's brains, leaving him dazed. While Captain America tends to Thor, Black Panther jumps on Hulk's back and pumps electricity through his head and Iron Man in Hulkbuster armor ponders the use of their big weapon Code: Helios. Delirious Thor wonders if they have created a god or devil in Hulk. Hulk likes the idea of devil Hulk and rips the arms off of Iron Man and uses them to smash Panther in the face, overloading the Vibranium in his suit. Tony Stark ejects from his ruined armor and begins prepping Helios. Captain Marvel is still evacuating the town while Cap calls on She-Hulk to take over. As the cousins fight, Hulk taunts Jen with the idea that there is now no difference between them, upsetting her enough that he can punch her into the next county. Against the advice of the others, Tony fires the Helios Laser, laced with UV radiation from space, obliterating the town—and the Hulk. Cap and T'Challa look on Bruce Banner's skeleton, Cap bemoaning how they have killed their friend. T'Challa reminds him it is only a temporary measure. Now what...?

Hulk awakens in the secret lab of Shadow Base—dissected and stored in separate jars....
