The Leader hatches a new plan to destroy the Hulk: Give him a heart attack (!) by arranging for Ol’ Greenskin to battle all of his greatest foes at once.
The Leader enlists the aid of Major Glenn Talbot, who blames the Hulk for Betty Ross‘ transformation into glass (last issue, Incredible Hulk #138). Talbot persuades General Ross to cooperate with the Leader and, after getting the President’s approval, they provide the villain with the Army’s new Brain-Wave Booster so he could use it to send three-dimensional, solid images of the Hulk’s foes to fight him.
First, Rhino battles the Hulk, then Xeron, the Star-Slayer, and the Sub-Mariner, followed by the Missing Link.
Hulk feels chest pains, but he defeats them easily.
Night-Crawler, the Mandarin, Sandman, Glob, Iron Man, the Abomination: All follow, yet none is a match for the green giant.
To protect the fragile glass-body of Betty from the Hulk-induced tremors, Jim Wilson tampers with the machinery, causing the Leader to see what he hates and fears the most: The Hulk! Surrounded by five Hulks, the Leader goes into shock.
And the real Hulk, seeing his last foe vanish before his eyes, leaps away.
