Synopsis

Incredible Hulk, The (1968 series) #383 synopsis by Julio MM
Rating: 3 stars

After settling into life at the Mount, Hulk asks Betty Ross to move in with him, hoping to rebuild their relationship in this new chapter. But Betty, still processing her own journey, declines. Her refusal stings deeply, and Hulk, wounded but silent, leaves Marlo Chandler’s apartment behind.

He boards a Pantheon starship bound for New York, commanded by the seasoned warrior Ulises. Rick Jones joins the mission, standing by Hulk’s side as always. Their destination: a city under siege, where reports indicate the Abomination is wreaking havoc.

But when they arrive, the situation is far stranger than expected. People are vanishing—literally dissolving into thin air with no warning, no trace, and no explanation. Panic spreads. Then, in a horrifying twist, Rick Jones vanishes too, leaving Hulk stunned and enraged.

Determined to find answers, Hulk tracks the Abomination into the city’s underground sewer system, where he sees him dragging a terrified girl into the shadows. Hulk charges in, and the two monsters collide in a brutal, unforgiving battle.

Just as Hulk gains the upper hand, a swirling intradimensional portal opens mid-fight. Without warning, it pulls Hulk in—ripping him from reality and leaving only silence behind. The Abomination watches, stunned, as the Hulk disappears from the face of the Earth.
