Agent of T.I.M.E. Part Four

Synopsis

Indestructible Hulk #14 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4.5 stars

Hulk's history has been tampered with: Neil Armstrong takes his small step onto the moon to see Hulk battling Abomination. In ancient Egypt, Joe Fixit fights Sandman and knocks the nose off the Sphinx. The robot containing Bruce Banner's consciousness takes them through another time jump and Gladiator Hulk lands on the deck of the Santa Maria ready to face Fin Fang Foom as “Bruce's” memory starts to go awry from the evil Chronarchist's schemes....

Meanwhile, 500 years later, the Gamma Bomb is ready for testing but Bruce Banner is arguing with General Thunderbolt Ross over safety measures as Betty Ross looks on and the sinister lab assistant/Commie spy Emil Blonsky tries to steal Bruce's secrets. Out at the bomb site, however, the Chronarchist Khotto is tampering with the bomb while remaining in touch with his ally Zarrko. But they are short of the temporal element because of Hulk's actions in Arizona in issue #12 and don't have the control over the bomb that they wish; Zarrko suggests that Khotto add his time-suit components to the mix, assuring him that he (Zarrko) can take him (Khotto) away in time....

Hulk defeats FFF by wrapping his tail around his neck—and then Hulk and “Bruce” are pulled back into the timestream with the robot falling to pieces from the experience. This is their last chance to find the baddie....

At the test site, Bruce sees teenager Rick Jones drive out onto the testing grounds and rushes out to rescue him...Bruce hurls Rick into a ditch...the bomb goes off...Hulk appears and hurls Banner into the ditch...the radiation hits...”Bruce” uploads his consciousness into Banner...and Hulk, with a second full dose of the gamma ray mutates into a bigger, meaner, spike-covered monster....

Indestructible Hulk #14 Review by (June 10, 2019)

Review: You knew Zarrko was the Big Bad all along, right? Anyway, a comical story arc gets even more comical by playing around with the protagonist's history, in this case, going back to the birth of the Hulk and messing things up from there. And Kim Jacinto's art certainly lends itself to comical effect with people's over-sized mouths. And seeing Fin Fang Foom take a beating is just icing on the cake.

Comments:AGE OF ULTRON Aftermath”--Cover. Cameo appearances by Neil Armstrong and Christopher Columbus. Mahmud Asrar did the art for pages 1-5, Kim Jacinto for pages 6-20.
