Synopsis
Last issue Ironheart confronted Dr Doom in the ruins of his Latverian castle. She told him to stop pretending to be Iron Man. But Doom asked her to attack him in a successful attempt to bring on a repeat of a vision of a future he had in #6. This time he is contacted from the future by Tony Stark, Sorcerer Supreme!
Now vision-Stark *also* says Victor must stop being Iron Man. It's important that he's not Iron Man when *they* come for him. But the vision fades before Tony can explain who 'they' are.
And when Doom rejoins Ironheart in the real world he collapses at her feet.
In Manhattan Thing has a meet with his old partner Human Torch. They chat about recent events in their lives. Johnny Storm has been with the Inhumans, mainly because he was in a relationship with Medusa which is now over. (He doesn't mention the Uncanny Avengers Unity Squad.) Ben Grimm was in space with the Guardians Of The Galaxy but now he's working for SHIELD hunting Dr Doom.
Johnny asks if Ben has heard anything about Reed and Sue. Ben says Mr Fantastic turned up in his hotel room (last 2 issues). Reed was quite convincing apart from 2 things:- he wouldn't talk about Sue and he wanted Ben to Kill Doom. They both agree it couldn't have been Reed Richards (we know it was the Maker, evil RR from the Ultimate Universe), but Ben says Reed knew an awful lot of personal stuff about him. They part because Johnny can't stand being reminded of what they've lost.
Grimm gets a call from SHIELD saying that they have Victor Von Doom in custody in a helicarrier over Serbia. Sharon Carter thanks Ironheart for bringing him in, but Riri Williams plays it down. But Carter says this will make her a global celebrity, and she should probably expect a congratulatory call from the President. Ironheart flies off and Thing arrives.
Doom's sedated for now but 3 of the SHIELD Agents want to kill him before he wakes up and escapes. They taser his guards and prepare to shoot him. But suddenly the central Agent shoots the other 2. Stunned she asks Doom how he made her do that, but Victor's witchy mother Cynthia appears and takes the credit.
Cynthia Von Doom easily holds off other Agents who arrive. She tells Thing she warned him to leave her son alone (we didn't actually see her say that in #3-5) so now this is on him. She leaves with Victor, and the helicarrier crashes into the sea.
When Victor wakes up in Cynthia's 'house' she tells him she has some secrets to show him.
