Invincible Iron Man #88 Review by (June 19, 2021)
Comments: Issue bannered “Iron Man Disassembled” on cover; tie-in to “Avengers Disassembled” event. Part three of four parts. Story arc takes place after the events of AVENGERS #500-503, minus the epilogues in issue #89. Pepper refers to herself and Happy as “Lucy” and “Ethel” the scheming protagonist of the classic sitcom I LOVE LUCY and her reluctant sidekick.

Review: Well, that didn’t take long: Tony has been cleared of murder as the news discovers the rogue Iron Man. Seen it all before. Other than Happy coming off as a total idiot when hearing about technology. Though we do finally get to Ray Kurzweil’s Singularity, when “technological advancement will one day become so overwhelming, so uncontrollable it’ll threaten all life on this planet.” Maybe I’ll go read his book; it’s sounds more creative than this story arc.
