Story Name:

The Vengeance Of Vibro!

Synopsis

Iron Man #187 synopsis by T Vernon
Rating: 2.5 stars
Vibro uses his deadly tremor powers to break out of jail and head off for revenge against Iron Man....
At their motel, Tony Stark has souped up the new Iron Man gauntlets and Rhodey takes them out for a test, leaving Tony and the Erwins to talk about applications for the technology. Meanwhile, Vibro is on a rampage, demanding to see both Iron Man and Franklin Fortney (see last issue); the police contact the businessman but he refuses to come. Iron Man picks up a news broadcast and, against the advice of his friends, goes out to face the villain. Shellhead arrives on the scene...and Vibro easily blasts him out of the sky. Rescued by Tony and the Erwins, Rhodey tells them about the headaches he has been having (since issue #177); Tony immediately realizes that the cause is the armor being calibrated for Tony's not Rhodey's brainwaves. A quick conference and they deduce that Vibro's power increases the closer he is to the San Andreas fault so....
Outside, the army has arrived to take care of the menace but Vibro is able to deflect bullets away from himself and flatten the soldiers...and now scientists are warning that the villain's activity could cause an earthquake....
Interlude: Brothers Percy and Barton Grimes, planning to open an X-rated movie theater, discover the bodies of the artificial criminals, the Brothers Grimm....
Iron Man confronts Vibro and lures him into chasing him in a jeep, drawing him fifty miles from the Fault. Shellhead seizes the weakened baddie and lifts him high in the air forcing him to surrender....
Epilogue: Tony the Erwins, and Rhodey get back to the business of starting a business....

Review / Commentaries

Iron Man #187 Review by (May 23, 2016)
Comments: Part two of two parts. Vibro will return in issues #191-192; that was quick.

Review: A totally by-the-numbers issue. Not particularly bad but it's all been done before. And better.
