The Enchantress is in Hel, casting a final spell and glad she is not in Asgard this day….

Splinter Realm: A young Thor fights a giant mountain lion that threatens to attack the mourning Jane Foster, who is silently recalling her abandonment by her friends after the death of her mother. She then recalls her visit as Thor, to the library in Limbo where the Librarian kept posing complex conundrums about religion. She demanded to know how the demon S’ym found her there; It was the piece of Prometheum she found; S’ym told her she could find the Odinson in Dreamqueen’s realm in Liveworld….

Sif faces Tyr in battle and he summons the Disir, a cursed version of the Valkyries, who spare him as the one who summoned them and turn on his enemies….

In Liveworld, Jane, again afflicted with cancer meets the boy Thor and tells him of her fears, especially of not being loved. The boy grows into the adult Thor and assures her that she will always have his love. They are approached by a little girl who asks their help, needing a doctor for her dolls, which resemble Volstagg and Hildegarde….

One of the Disir arrives, calling for Runa; Runa grabs Arngrim and leaps overboard with him. Seeing all going as the Queen promised, Tyr offers up sacrifices to the God of War: Ares….

Review / Commentaries

Jane Foster and the Mighty Thor #4 Review by (September 21, 2022)

Review: To be honest, I’m not sure I understood all that was going on in this issue but there were some cool moments. Also some introspective moments as we see into Jane’s soul though I’m not sure how that ties into anything. And the Dreamqueen seems to come out of nowhere; was she mentioned in the previous issues? Doesn’t seem worth going back to see. And again: Here’s hoping it all makes sense by issue #5.

Comments: The Disir were a frequent villain in THOR #611-614 and JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #625-644.
