Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #8 Review by (July 12, 2011)
Enchantress gets drunk mooning over Thor, but that doesn't stop her using her allure against Hulk and Captain America.

Mr Fantastic mentions that Dr Doom is supposed to be dead before this series. I explained in #4 how Beyonder got round that.

Spider-Man can't explain why his new costume looks like that of the new Spider-Woman. Battleworld certainly had nothing to do with *her* threads.

All the heroes actually returned from this series in the issues immediately following the 1's where they left. So readers have already seen Spidey's new costume for some months. The same is true of other changes that happen in this series. It was hoped they'd read this series to find out how these things happened.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #8 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
The heroes attack Doombase in retaliation for the murder of Wasp and to rescue She-Hulk. The villains make short work of Shulkie and turn to face their foes. A series of thrilling duels result: Iron Man vs. the Wrecker, Spider-Woman vs. Absorbing Man, Hawkeye vs. Piledriver, Spider-Man vs. Titania, and more. Thing finds himself turning into Ben Grimm at the worst moment and Hulk is hypnotized by the Enchantress; not to worry, Captain America punches her lights out. Volcana battles furiously to protect the wounded Molecule Man but the heroes back down when they learn of his perilous condition. Human Torch exhausts himself destroying Ultron with a nova blast and Cap enters Doom’s lair to find the supervillain a wreck after his fall from space (last issue). The heroes mop up the villains, locking the healthy in cells and encasing the wounded, along with the gravely injured She-Hulk, in cell-regenerators. As they plan a hero’s funeral for the fallen Wasp, Colossus, back at the village, learns by reading Zsaji’s mind that Janet was merely in a deep coma and she is now healed, though doing this has left Zsaji in a coma. Wasp causes a shock for Captain Marvel and Hawkeye when they see her alive and moving. Spider-Man is told that there is a machine that can repair his damaged costume and he goes in search of it. Finding what he thinks is the right device, he receives a small black glob of matter which quickly spreads over his body, turning his costume black with a white insignia. Then Professor X broadcasts the message that Galactus has begun to devour the planet….
