Synopsis / Summary / Plot
The Hulk is rampaging through the town of Jude, New Mexico. Crooked Sheriff Martin contacts the villainous Dr. Benway who sets a trap and shoots Hulk with a ray that stimulates the pleasure centers of his brain, calming him so that he turns into Bruce Banner and he is easily captured. Meanwhile, bounty hunter Jessica Drew is in town searching for escaped killer Johnny Yen. In her Spider-Woman guise she contacts Sheriff Martin, who steers her to Dr. Benway's clinic, then calls ahead to arrange a reception for her. Spider-Woman searches the clinic and finds Johnny Yen, half transformed into a monster. She is captured by Dr. Benway who explains his experiments in creating monsters and informs her that she will soon be a part of his research. After Benway leaves, Spider-Woman easily escapes from her bonds and battles Benway's monsters. The melee interrupts Benway as he's about to lobotomize Bruce Banner, and Spider-Woman grabs Bruce and carries him to safety. When she reaches a dead end, however, she slaps the sedated Bruce's face to wake him up, and it does, but also triggers his transformation into the Hulk. The berserk Hulk tears into the monsters (now revealed to be robots) and Spider-Woman pursues the fleeing villains. Hulk's violence causes the lab to explode and a flying piece of debris stuns Martin just as he's about to shoot Spider-Woman. Surveying the rubble of the destroyed lab, Spider-Woman gives up the Hulk for dead, but Jade Jaws smashes his way out and leaps away.
