Original Sin 5.n - Thor and Loki #5 Review by (September 17, 2014)
Review: Okay wrap-up to the overlong epic, in which a major revelation results in no practical difference in the Marvel Universe. Yeah, Angela will likely pop up in a future Thor issue which will lead to a few embarrassing moments (and not even that if it’s Lady Thor she bumps into) but THOR and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY can remain entirely unspoiled. And to those who guessed (wrongly) that Angela would be the new Thor: seriously, dudes? Marvel just gained the use of Angela from Neil Gaiman, why would they change her completely? No, that will happen when they LOSE the rights to the character. For now they aren’t messing with anything.

Comments: The final mention of Mjolnir is heavy with irony since ORIGINAL SIN #8 made it clear that once he returns to his Avengers comrades Thor will no longer be worthy.

Original Sin 5.n - Thor and Loki #5 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Loki (now female) has summoned Odin from the Prison of Gods and the All-Father prepares for war….

In Heven, the Tenth Realm, Thor faces the Queen of Angels and destroys everything she throws against him. He demands to know of his sister. The Queen insists his sister has been dead all these years (though the reader is shown that the baby, thought dead, was rescued from the furnace by a soft-hearted Angel). Thor intends to kill the Queen but Angela arrives to challenge him, but this time she is outmatched because Thor is angry…. [From his domain, Evil Loki watches the show, munching on popcorn.] As the battle is about to commence, Odin rides in on his warhorse Sleipnir to join in—until he spies Angela and recognizes her as his daughter Aldrif. Exposed as an Asgardian, Angela is banished by the Queen but she refuses to accept it, vowing to kill Odin if she ever sees him again. Odin chooses to leave in peace with his two sons, though Loki pauses a moment to offer a refuge at his home should she ever need it. As they return to Asgard, Thor blames himself for what has gone wrong and Loki assures him he is still worthy of Mjolnir. Odin pauses to tell them he loves them (which enrages Evil Loki). And what of Angela? Having no home or identity, she returns to the stars….
