Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Thor #190 Synopsis by Marvel Comics
As Thor awaits Hela's touch, Karnilla comes to Balder to tell him of Thor's fate. Balder and Karnilla warn Odin who causes bystanders to vanish making Thor think Hela has broken her agreement to spare other lives. He flees through time and space but cannot elude Hella who returns him to New York.

Odin intervenes directly, killing Hela with a blast from his power scepter. However with no more death in the world, insects and vegetation proliferate while humanity's population explodes.

Thor begs Odin to restore Hela and Odin complies. Hela touches Thor and he ages rapidly. Odin summons Sif and she begs Hela to spare Thor and take her instead. Hela, touched by Sif's selfless love, restores Thor and departs.

Odin, Thor, and Sif return to Asgard and find a Storm Giant guarding the Rainbow Bridge instead of Heimdall. Entering the city, they find Loki on the throne, having again seized the Odin-Ring, with Trolls, Giants, Norns, Karnilla, and Balder by his side. Odin yields to Loki and the ring. Loki announces that worlds will fall to him, beginning with Earth.
