Twenty-seven years ago: James Howlett, kept in a tank at the Weapon X facility for experimental purposes since World War Two, is freed by Erik Lensherr. To free him, Lensherr must kill his mother along with the other scientists on the project, who have been striving for a cure for human mutation….
Eighteen years ago: Charles Xavier meets Erik Lensherr and the two hit it off over Xavier’s dream of a place where mutants can find refuge and cultivate their race. Erik has established such a colony in the Savage Land, and Charles is invited to become their teacher to build a new society. Erik reveals he is the child of two Weapon X agents and declares that his life’s work will be to free mutants from human oppression. Charles states that it will be a large effort, educating the human masses as well as the mutants. Erik asks for a glimpse of Charles' vision and uses it to build a massive structure of steel in their remote refuge. And a carved stone stele observes it all….
