Synopsis

Uncanny Avengers #3 synopsis by Rob Johnson
Rating: 4 stars
For a long time Wanda and Pietro Maximoff believed they were the children of Magneto, but born in the High Evolutionary's science-palace on Mount Wundagore. During the Axis event they discovered that Magneto *wasn't* their father, and now Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have come to Counter-Earth to get the truth out of Herbert Edgar Wyndham. Rogue recruited a new Avengers Unity Squad (Captain America (Sam Wilson), Dr Voodoo, Sabretooth (who was turned good by Axis) and Vision) and followed them here. But Jericho Drumm's magical teleportation split them up.

In #1 Vision met a female android called Eve who showed him an image of them as a family with 2 android kids. Now we see them connected by wires, and Vizh has found love and a place in the universe. High Evolutionary discovers them and they show him a roomful of their children floating in tanks. (Eve says they are already self-replicating, so presumably she and Vision only made the 1st few themselves.) HE shows them the empty new city the kids could occupy, and tempts Vision to stay here.

Also in #1 Rogue was captured by an old bird New Man who is Evolutionary's Master Scientist. He said he was going to remove Simon Williams (Wonder Man) from her mind (there since she absorbed him in #21-22 of the previous series). Now the Scientist is putting Sabretooth back together (after some severe torture last issue) while testing Rogue's ionic powers that she 'inherited' from WM. (He hasn't told HE that he's got her.)

Wanda and Pietro themselves have have met a guy called the Low Evolutionary who we now learn is Herbert Wyndham's son. He is the leader in Lowtown of a rebel group of survivors from his father's purges of failed experiments. Now that the mutant twins are here to help maybe they have a chance to rise up against their oppressor. He hopes they can evacuate the wounded to Earth (Wanda suggests the empty Morlock tunnels) and assemble another army there.

A messenger arrives to report that the HE has a new way to track them. LE issues a call to arms. Scarlet Witch offers herself and Quicksilver to go fight HE's forces but LE will only let them fight as *part* of his troops. However Pietro rushes off carrying his sister to investigate this new tracker, who they find is Sabretooth on a leash held by Dhrovo and Lord Gator. Quicky takes out the New Men but Sabretooth attacks the Witch until she imprisons him with a spell. This is the 1st hint they have that the Unity Squad followed them (which doesn't really make sense because they don't know Victor Creed is now *in* the Squad).

But then a costumed female (Luminous from last issue) arrives and taunts them. Quicksilver speeds to the attack but the foe proves even quicker and possessing a mighty punch. Scarlet Witch takes up the fight but Luminous turns out to use Chaos Magic too, and has better control of it. As Pietro rushes back into the battle she diverts Wanda's magic blast which picks him up a throws him into his sister, almost knocking them both out.

Dhrovo, Gator and Sabretooth have recovered so Luminous sends them on their way to find Lowtown. She tells the twins she's not allowed to kill them before the High Evolutionary has a chat with them. So she generates a force bubble to hold them and flies off towing them to meet their maker.

Sabretooth finds Lowtown, and Dhrovo reports back to the HE who sends some more New Men to deal with the rebels.
