Loki is
running on a platform of getting tough on terrorists, claiming that being
beaten up by the Hulk qualifies him for the job and the media is thrilled….
Thor (Jane
Foster at this time) demands to know why Nisa Contreras is endorsing Loki for
President and she asks Thor to read the entire article, showing that her editor
added a positive headline to a negative story. Nisa asks for help, Thor
explains that Loki hasn’t actually done anything wrong and tells Nisa that it
is her battle, handing her a flier hung on her door about Loki’s supporters,
the America the Faithful Fund….
Meanwhile,
Loki holds a rally in a Texas stadium with a huge cheering crowd. He descends
from the sky, jokes about being a liar, then he stirs them up by discrediting
the media for calling them stupid and he positions himself as their champion….
Nisa goes
to the America the Faithful Fund offices and finds hooded priests praying to
Loki as part of a sacred ritual involving a goat. Nisa takes pictures and they
appear in the Daily Bugle, attracting a
lot of negative attention to Loki. Loki responds on television, pointing out
that of course he has worshippers, he’s a god. He then questions Nisa’s
“support” of him and he becomes an even greater hero in the eyes of his
supporters. And Nisa sinks into despair….
