Synopsis

Image from Incredible Hulk #181

Wolverine jumps at Hulk and Wendigo. After realizing his adamantium claws cannot pierce the Hulk’s hide, Wolverine attacks the Wendigo instead, and hurts him. Hulk interprets such as a friend’s gesture and joins Wolverine in fighting Wendigo. But the Wolverine orders were to take down the Hulk, so he eventually attacks Ol’Greenskin once again.

As they battle, Marie Carter and Georges Baptise carry the unconscious Wendigo to a cave, where the girl uses black magic to transfer the curse onto the Hulk to free her brother Paul. Marie knocks out Wolverine and the Hulk with sleeping gas. Such causes Hulk to transform into Bruce Banner.

Feeling remorse for passing the curse to a victim, Georges enters the cave and starts the ritual, passing the Wendigo curse into himself, liberating his best friend Paul of it.

Marie freaks out when she sees the new Wendigo. Wolverine loses concentration for a moment, as Hulk connects a punch and wins the battle.

Incredible Hulk #181 Review by (February 15, 2010)
The first appearance of Wolverine was last comic (Hulk #180) but he only appears in the last page. In this story we learn that Wolverine is a mutant who has been enhanced by a government that calls him Weapon-X. Initially, Wolverine was incapable of hurting the Hulk with his claws, something that writer Peter David changes in Hulk #340.
