Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II #7 Review by (April 28, 2020)

Review: A lot of the original goes missing as Joe Casey omits the battle with the snake and the lengthy fight between the Avengers and the Circus, wrapping it up in a couple of pages to move on to the new stuff viz. Black Panther versus Death Tiger. This battle is one of the highlights of the series and justifies its page count though it doesn’t really address the reasons Panther’s enemies wanted him gone. So why did Delroy bring a gun to school and then hide until everyone was gone? Not clear, perhaps second thoughts?

Comments: Issues #6-7 are an expanded version of AVENGERS #60 with all of the Black Panther plot in this issue being new.

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II #7 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

With the battle between the assembled heroes and the Circus of Crime, Yellowjacket cowers impotently in a corner as his thoughts go wild, and suddenly he grows into Giant-Man and takes down the Ringmaster. Captain America has a talk with Nick Fury and learns a pair of SHIELD Agents were killed by an unknown assailant (we know it was Death Tiger last issue); Black Panther sees the bodies and knows also….

At P.S. 75, T’Challa as Luke Charles again sees Delroy being bullied and suspects he may be planning some sort of vengeance and warns him off it. Vision appears, having been tasked by Cap to find out what he knows about the dead SHIELD agents, learning about T’Challa’s secret life ass well but promising to tell no one….

Aboard the Helicarrier, Nick Fury confronts Hank Pym and Wasp as Agent Carver insists Hank isn’t mentally stable. Hank says he and Jan are stepping down from the Avengers and he appreciates what she did to save him….

At school, Delroy stays late, hiding in the bathroom with a gun until everyone is gone…but then he sees Death Tiger and hides. As T’Challa leaves his classroom he is attacked by the African assassin and there is a bitter fight in the halls that spills out into he alley. When Death Tiger has T’Challa at his mercy, Delroy shoots the villain down….

Back at Avengers Mansion, Jarvis is clearing up the mess in the kitchen while Hawkeye takes a call from T’Challa about his meeting with Death Tiger. Vision enters also despairing about his unpopularity with the public and he ascends to the roof where he faces the Super-Adaptoid….

Iron Man and Jasper Sitwell are also in the issue but contribute so little I couldn’t fit them into the synopsis.
