At the docks, their compatriot Arrow informs them that a ferry transporting human slaves has just docked. So Killraven leads his team to capture the ship, forcing the captain to head for Staten Island, Killraven’s base. But a Martian tripod rises from the river, pursuing and firing on the ferry. Killraven gives the order to reverse engines and the ferry rams the tripod, destroying it. With the situation having quieted down, Killraven explains the world’s recent history and the nature of the enemy….
At a nearby Martian base in New Jersey, traitor Professor Kempleton reports to his Martian Master that Killraven’s rebel gang has destroyed two drone tripods and captured a shipment of slaves. The Master orders a scout flyer sent out to assess the situation. An Air Force scout plane is sent out and it discovers the ferry burning on the Staten Island shore. The scout is ordered to return to base and the Siren has already been summoned….

But the hero breaks free from the robot and, fighting for his freedom, brutally clobbers the Slasher. Killraven discovers M’Shulla and others prisoner so he frees them, smashing an automated ray gun with a silver star.
