Captain America (2011 series) #16

The Discordians are attacking American bases around the world, and Captain America is leading the fight in Washington, backed by an army of armored SHIELD agents. While all this is taking place, TV demagogue Reed Braxton is ranting about Cap’s slow response—then condemning him for getting involved, presenting himself as the real voice of the people. When Cap tries to save a woman from danger, she maces him and an ugly mob gathers spewing hate toward Cap and the government….

The Falcon is providing back-up for Sharon Carter and Dum Dum Dugan, who are infiltrating the cable news building where the phony Reed Braxton is holding forth. The two SHIELD agents enter the control room where they take the staff hostage and discover that a) there is more than one Reed Braxton in the studio, each speaking to a different camera and b) the station is also transmitting some sort of hypnotic pattern to its viewers. Braxton then reveals on the air that government agents have taken the producers hostage and Sharon and Dum Dum appear on TV. They fight their way out, with Dum Dum taking the time to steal the head from one of the Braxton robots. Falcon aids their escape as the Braxton-influenced mob surrounds and attacks Captain America….
