Synopsis

Daredevil (1964 series) #210 synopsis by reviewer Anthony Silvestro
Rating: 3.5 stars

A transport truck makes the trek to a specific prison, secretly containing Micah Synn’s men. When they arrive, they start a bloody battle before grabbing Crossbow and driving off with him, taking him to see their leader! The next morning, Matt Murdock stops by Glorianna O’Breen’s apartment, where she gifts him a new scarf. Pretending he’s not embarrassed, he heads to his office where Becky tells him that Foggy and Debbie are waiting for him with news about Micah Synn. Foggy reads Matt the paper, in which Micah is quoted as saying that civilized society has no place for men such as Daredevil, swaying the public to his side even more. Not long after, Micah himself arrives to discuss the matter of his inheritance from the Synn estate, which is being held up by red tape when Daredevil forced Barrington Synn to flee the country. Debbie suggests Micah get a restraining order on Daredevil while Micah steals Matt’s scarf and Matt has to pretend he can’t tell. Both things leave him seething.

Later, at his new penthouse, Micah has new clothes fitted and is informed that the restraining order on Daredevil has been acquired. Elsewhere in the penthouse, a tied-up Crossbow manages to wriggle free of his bonds just as Micah comes to check on him. Crossbow says he’s not afraid to die but Micah implies he has other uses for him. On the lower west side, a transport truck is stopped by some of Micah’s men. They open it to discover the owner inside, none other than the Kingpin, hoping to see who has been stealing his goods. Kingpin utterly takes the men apart and confirms that Micah Synn has now made himself Fisk’s enemy!  That evening, Daredevil storms into Micah’s penthouse to confront him, questioning why he got the restraining order only to have it paused for 24 hours! Micah simply responds that he needed bait to spring his trap, which is when Crossbow springs out and manages to shoot Daredevil in the arm!

Daredevil fights through the pain and fights back as best he can before ducking away to try and bandage his wounded arm. Though Crossbow hates working with Micah, he continues to fight Daredevil until DD gets his foot caught in a trap that dangles him high over the city! Crossbow aims to shoot the rope and let Daredevil fall to his death, giving Daredevil the opportunity to swing so as to let his momentum carry him back to the balcony. Daredevil and Crossbow face each other down when suddenly the police arrive, having been called by Micah’s secretary. They inform Daredevil that the restraining order went into effect ten minutes ago, forcing Daredevil to leave. Micah revels in his small victory, knowing Daredevil will hold to the law, while sniffing the torn piece of Daredevil’s costume tips him off that Daredevil and Matt Murdock are one and the same! To be continued!

Daredevil (1964 series) #210 Review by (December 3, 2025)

Review: Micah Synn continues to be ever-present, while being as big of a thorn in Daredevil’s side as possible. Micah now speaks English fluently and has acquired his own penthouse, making it really hard to tell how much time has passed since he first appeared. Micah is really starting to feel like discount Kraven the Hunter now, though he does manage to actually be rather cunning and dangerous. He gets a restraining order against Daredevil, in a day no less, which is a little hard to believe. First off, how would Daredevil be served this order? Second, while Micah has been able to manipulate the media, it still frustrates me that he continues to act completely freely regardless of the very public indiscretions he’s committed. That aside, it ends up being a good plan to lure Daredevil to him, where he can sic Crossbow on DD. Crossbow manages to put up a much better fight than last time, and the action between the two is even rather cool.

Something that’s not so smart, on the other hand, is that Micah has also now made an enemy of the Kingpin, who is notably not as concerned with following the law as Daredevil. Serves him right. Honestly though, while I still don’t particularly like Micah as a character or this general storyline, this issue wasn’t that bad. It’s still not spectacular or anything, and the restraining order thing is a little ridiculous, but the plot and other elements were competently put together. This may be due to the fact that David Mazzucchelli plotted this one. The good and bad elements of the issue kind of balance out this time. While he was merely really obnoxious and annoying before, Micah is now actually proving to be legitimately cunning and dangerous, especially as he’s figured out that Matt Murdock is Daredevil (by his scent, only furthering the Kraven-lite comparisons).

Comments: Micah Synn learns that Matt Murdock is Daredevil.
