Iron Man puts his new improved armor though its paces in his version of the Danger Room. Then, having broken up with Marianne Rodgers, Tony Stark heads off to live the playboy life on vacation in Los Angeles. While lounging by the pool he spies a fire in the nearby forest and heads out to help as Iron Man. He encounters a hippie cult led by Raga, Son of Fire, a charismatic leader who can channel his anger into a searing heat. Shellhead interrupts as they are about to punish cult member Cynthia for daring to have a forbidden romance with outsider Mack….
Back in New York, Marianne Rodgers starts a new job at a computer firm but has visions of monsters and goes berserk, smashing the lab….
Iron Man interrupts the execution and easily takes down the cultists but Raga, with this heat powers is much more formidable. Shellhead douses Raga with a tank of water but the villain’s rage increase and he turns the ground under the hero to molten lava and Iron Man is trapped….
