Tony Stark is pondering his origin as Iron Man while Jocasta thoroughly examines him after his encounter with the sentient armor. Jocasta’s diagnosis is surprising: Tony no longer has any heart problems. The armor replaced Tony’s damaged heart with an artificial heart of its own devising though it does need to be recharged periodically….
Late at night, Tony goes to visit Rumiko Fujikawa to apologize and tell her he loves her. She is delighted but tells him to leave and call her at a decent time tomorrow. Jocasta contacts Tony saying that she has intercepted a message from the Sons of Yinsen which suggests their next target will be Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Tony balks at becoming Iron Man once more but Jocasta provides him with an older armor and convinces him that he can handle things….
Iron Man arrives in Kuala Lumpur to find the city under attack like Osaka, Japan last time: property damage against opium dens, brothels, and sweatshops but with no human casualties and announcing to the city that they are looking for someone. Shellhead goes after their massive ship which discharges multiple copies of the original golden Iron Man armor; once Tony realizes they are drones, he has no compunction against destroying them. He sees a pair of humans wearing Eastern garb and Iron Man helmets interrogating a man; he approaches them but they bow and take off, leading the drones into their ship. Iron Man follows them to an even more massive ship. Inside, he meets the twelve Sons of Yinsen, led by Sun-Tao, the Master’s first prodigy. This group worships Professor Yinsen as their god and knows that Iron Man is Tony Stark, the Chosen One. Sun-Tao had been captured with Yinsen in their native Timbetpal and locked up in Wong-Chu’s prison camp all those years ago. He was there when the injured Tony Stark was brought in and witnessed the birth of Iron Man; he also carried Yinsen away and was with him when he died. The Sons were attacking cities so they would turn over a criminal informant who could tell them how to find the Great Devil—Wong Chu is still alive….
