Invaders, The #7 Review by (January 21, 2020)

Review: Things get scarier as Namor is fully under the power of a warped part of his own mind, manifested as his counsellor Machan. Iron Man is mad at Captain America for miscalculating the danger Namor posed and now Cap is accusing himself. Weird stuff is happening to Human Torch and Toro is back after a long hiatus. And more humans are turned into sea people. And then the Serpent Crown shows up…. Things get off to a grim start in the second half of this story and will probably be darker before the dawn. Stay tuned. PS No idea what that second brief title is all about; it looks like a teaser for an AVENGERS issue.

Comments: Human Torch was beheaded in issue #5. The Serpent Crown, which has a mystical connection to the Egyptian god Set, first appeared in SUB-MARINER #9 (1969) and shows up periodically as it does here. Carlos Magno drew the modern scenes while Butch Guice did the wartime episodes.
