America Chavez helped Loki steal the Armour Of Sol from the Asgard armoury. They escaped through 1 of her star portals but Hildegarde of the Warriors Three followed them. After another portal escape from some Marvel Zombies they ended up falling towards an ocean. Loki was magically kidnapped and the Valkyrie dove into the water to save unconscious Chavez.

Hildegarde swims towards the surface carrying America. But she's spotted by 2 creatures in diving gear with a spear and a net and also underwater jetpacks. They attack making Hildie let go of Chavez. Meanwhile despite America being unconscious we get her voiceover relating her recent history (in her Made In The USA series). There she regained repressed memories and now remembers being separated from her 2 mothers and her sister. She tried reach out for her sister but failed and then hit freezing water and thought she was going to die (which parallels what happened last issue with Loki).

The foes appear to be apes. Hildegarde smashes 1's helmet with the her forehead and puts his spear through the other's jetpack. Then she grabs Chavez again and resumes her swim to the surface. But behind her a red tentacle grabs 2nd ape. And as Hildie gets America to air and returning consciousness she's pulled back down by a tentacle which is so tough that her knife breaks on it. She sees the 2 apes dead and grabs her axe and prepares to do battle with the monster below.

Meanwhile Loki has been taken by 2 beings made of hot rock and made to kneel before a woman in red on a throne who calls herself the Crimson Queen. Another hot rock being with a staff stands beside her. She welcomes Loki Laufeyson to her domain the Kingdom Of The Torch, which is part of Weirdworld which she intends to rule someday. She asks him why he's brought the powerful weapon the Armour Of Sol to her land, and warns him not to lie. He protests that he's no longer the God Of Lies, and says that they got here by accident and their intended destination is elsewhere. He apologises for bringing the Armour here but says its power is almost used up (fighting off zombies last issue). Whatever, the Queen wants him to give her the armour but he says no. She tries to sweeten the deal by saying that if he complies she will allow him and his companions (if they are still alive) to return to where the came from (the zombies?!). Loki counters with a threat.

We see Hildegarde swimming back up to Chavez, and behind her the beast lies with limp tentacles and a big hole in its 1 eye. America is floating limp on the surface and we get another bout of voiceover. She remembers that after losing her moms and sister she was washed ashore and found by her adoptive Santana family. It was their automatic selfless desire to look after her which encouraged her to use her powers as a superhero, even though they didn't like it. Hildie wades ashore with America limp in her arms to be confronted by a tank and armed/armoured soldiers.

The Queen is telling Loki he'll regret his threats when she gets a video message from General Eliad via her communications drone which shows the 2 women captured and in handcuffs. Chavez is awake and on her feet. The Queen tells the General to shoot the girl, but the Valkyrie leaps to save her and takes the blast in the shoulder.

Weirdworld and the Kingdom Of The Torch and its inhabitants are not new (but the Crimson Queen is).

The original Weirdworld was a planet in another dimension inhabited by fantasy creatures which was 1st seen in a tale in Monsters Unleashed #9. The central char Tyndall of Klarn showed up in a tale in Marvel Super Action #1, then the whole of Marvel Premiere #38, Marvel Comics Super Special #11-13 and tales in Epic Illustrated #9,11-13 and tales in Marvel Fanfare #24-26. It connected with the Marvel Universe when the X-Men visited the place (but not Tyndall) in their (2010)#16-19.

When the 7th Cosmos was destroyed a fragment of the planet formed part of Dr Doom's Battleworld during the Secret Wars event, especially during their own 2015 mini-series. There the Kingdom Of The Torch was ruled by Morgan Le Fay and it included people from many other worlds, including some that we see here. It was there that we met the Underwater Apes of Apelantis, the Magma Men and their leader Moltar (from the Crystar series) and the Ogres who are the Queen's troops here.

In the 8th Cosmos the Battleworld chunk of Weirdworld became attached to the Bermuda Triangle (which was in fact how the X-Men accessed the original planet in the 7th Cosmos) as shown in its 2016 mini-series and the 2016 Black Knight mini-series. The legend has continued through various other apps until here. And the Crimson Queen seems to be occupying Morgan Le Fay's castle.
