Synopsis

Secret Avengers (2010 series) #34 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

Prologue: Father explains his program of Contagious Robotic Evolution though the magic of the Orb of Necromancy giving life to the Descendants and spreading that through the universe….

The miniature Human Torches detonate and blow up Lighthouse Station. Flash Thompson, drifting into space, is able to reach the device to summon the Symbiote to him; Venom then rescues Valkyrie and they return to the Station where Black Widow is able to get them to the Pymporters and out of there just as the Station burns up on hitting Earth’s atmosphere….

In Earth-666, Hawkeye and Captain Britain battle the Avengers of the Undead (see last issue) who are keeping the heroes from taking the Orb of Necromancy needed for the Undead Celestial’s scheme of Undead Evolution. Hawkeye grabs the Orb and hops on Cap B’s back as he tries to fly out of the dimension—but Brother Voodoo closes up the portal and they end up crashing to the ground, still in Earth-666. Beast arrives late to the party but all three are captured….

Black Widow, Venom, and Val arrive in the Core, the home of the Descendants, because that was the destination of the bad guys who had last used the Pymporter. They head for the tallest building in the land where Father has his headquarters and he is welcoming Yalda who has returned with her son Parvez, the first naturally born Descendant. And now the time has come for the Descendants to force all humanity into the same condition and spread consciousness throughout the Universe. And their leader will be the first of their kind: the Human Torch, now converted to the Descendants’ cause by Black Ant….

Elsewhere in the Core, Deathlok Wasp is using their tech to convert Hank Pym/Giant-Man into another Deathlok hybrid….

Secret Avengers (2010 series) #34 Review by (December 14, 2021)

Review: A thrilling rescue starts this episode of the story arc. We also learn of Father’s plans for humanity though some of the details are still obscure. And the Avengers of the Undead are still a nasty lot.

Comments: Part two of five parts. Evil Thor’s hammer is called Rinlojm (spell it backwards) because of course it is. Hawkeye mentions both DOCTOR WHO and THE MUNSTERS. A punk band in Earth-666 is singing “Code Blue” by T.S.O.L.
