Synopsis / Summary / Plot
1 month after the events of #10 Daisy Johnson (Quake) is awoken by Nick Fury and told to come with him on a trip.
Meanwhile in the Clan Yashida stronghold in Agarashima, Japan, Silver Samurai is attacked by a horde of armoured foes. The white-clad troops with large axes have helmets with 1 red glowing eye. There's 1 black demonic figure with 2 red eyes. The aloof leader's white armour has 3 red eyes. The demon does all the work, demanding that something be handed over then extending claws into Keniuchio Harada's brain to establish that he no longer has it. The angry leader insists on knowing where the box is. (This will be the box that Madame Hydra and Viper acquired from Clan Yashida in #6.)
We turn instead to the Hydra base Nemesis in Sumatra, now identified as their shipyards. Viper tells Gorgon that the prototype dreadnought Medusa is ready, and the other 5 will be completed over the next 2 months. She's thrown herself into this task even though she counselled against the war that Gorgon desires (#4). They are served food and drink by a bevy of sexily-clad women. Gorgon takes 1 to his quarters.
The American girl babbles on about how she's taken a semester off from her college education to earn some cash and hang-out with supercool terrorists. She's willing to do kinky stuff if it doesn't go too far. She notes his 'unconventional' statuary, all women in poses of fear. Gorgon removes the headband that covers his eyes, and his gaze turns her to stone.
He contemplates his blade and remembers how he was given it 6 years ago. Tomi Shishido already had his mutant powers including the turn-to-stone trick. He keeps his stone family with him. He is visited by Kraken in his armour who says his visor protects him from Tomi's gaze (they have to have eye-contact for Shishido's power to work). Kraken gives him the sword Godkiller with which he says a mortal man once wounded a god. Tomi says he would like to kill a god, and Kraken replies "Who am I to deny a man his destiny?".
Meanwhile (again) in Puerto Rico Jerry Sledge (Stonewall) is taking Yo-Yo Rodriguez (Slingshot) to see her mother. She is afraid of what she will think of her cybernetic forearms. She agrees to it if Jerry will confront *his* parents. We leave her in the doorway as her mother is aghast at the sight. (I don't think her father the Griffin is ever around.)
Back in Nemesis the demon-guy leads the troops in another assault. They want the 'girl' (by which they mean Viper). The demon takes some of the troops to deal with Gorgon, who recognises them as belonging to Leviathan.
Now at last we get back to Fury and Johnson and their mystery trip. They arrive in Nick's secret base #13, Hotspot in Paris. As they arrive Fury tells Daisy to fire Sebastian Druid for incompetence when they get back. Inside they meet the Howling Commandos Private Military Company, including Jasper Sitwell whose shoulder has recovered from Gorgon's sword wound. Gabe Jones seems to give a codeword "Resurrection" and then shows the pair to a meeting room and leaves them there.
Inside are Dum Dum Dugan and 3 others. The female is psi-agent Olivia Hook who scans Daisy's brain [with a Vulcan mind-meld] and declares her clean. Fury then dismisses her, and Dum Dum who is surprised but acquiesces when Nick says "It's that time".
Nick introduces the other 2 as Alexander Pierce, leader of the Caterpillar team designated Black, and his son Mikel Fury, head of the Grey team. (NF must have told Quake more about the existence of multiple Caterpillar teams since #6, and possibly that hers is the White team.) He now says the 3 teams are going to work together.
