Dr. Donald Blake has been hired by Tony Stark as ship’s
doctor on his new advanced cargo freighter on its maiden voyage. While Don is
moping, an insect-shaped undersea craft surfaces and attacks the freighter. He turns
into Thor and heads around the ship rescuing the crewmen from harm; a huge wave
separates Thor from his hammer, washing him and the captain overboard. Thor
returns to the deck with the captain but his sixty-seconds is up and he reverts
to his Don Blake form. Don is knocked unconscious as the marauder draws the
freighter into its massive hold and returns to an underwater city. There, the
crew meets the band of pirates and their master, the Bi-Beast (actually a
duplicate of the original) who has been preying on ships to build this
underwater city with the use of brainwashed sailors as pirates. His mission:
revenge against the human race for destroying the Avian people. Fighting the
monster is impossible so the crew submit to the brainwashing machine. Don
persuades Bi-Beast that a mind-controlled physician is no good so Don is spared
to care for injured crewmen. Soon, his waking stick turns up among the salvage
and he seizes it and assumes his Thor form, clobbering all of the guards. He
confronts Bi-Beast in the control room and the monster throws a switch, sending
the city flying through the air on its maiden voyage of destruction. The two
scuffle, Bi-Beast holds Thor for his men to shoot at; instead Thor hurls
Mjolnir so that it ricochets around the room, finally destroying the machine
controlling the minds of the humans. As the ship moves over Florida, Bi-Beast
begins firing the ship’s weapons at those on the ground. Thor beats the baddie
to a pup, destroying all the machinery, causing the ship to plummet from the
sky. Thor uses Mjolnir to create a whirlwind to cushion the ship’s descent to
the ground. He then takes off to return as Don Blake.
