Synopsis
As Moondragon watches the childlike Drax build a huge sandcastle on the beach, she recalls his story: her father Arthur Douglas, jazz musician, who died in a car accident in the Nevada desert; his soul taken by Kronos to animate the fearsome Drax the Destroyer; her inadvertent killing of him; his resurrection with a stunted intellect into the being he is now. Her greatest fear is that he will regain his memory and take revenge on her for his death. Unable to bear the waiting, she prompts him with references to a desert and he recovers the memory of his first death, for which he blames Thanos. Drax then takes off for Reno, Nevada. Moondragon barely has time to give Pip the Troll a message for Gamora, who is watching over a catatonic Adam Warlock before she heads in pursuit of the big green guy. Arriving in Reno, Drax accidentally causes trouble as he wanders in search of half-forgotten music. TV reports of a green giant on a rampage blame the Hulk. Professor Hulk, meanwhile, annoyed at the accusation sets out to find the interloper and discovers Drax gazing longingly at a saxophone in a pawn shop window. Hulk arrives and lands a blow on Drax, making the Destroyer very angry.
