Super-Skrull and the destruction and rebirth of the Kyln

Rob Johnson By Rob Johnson
March 16, 2026

There's a lot of squabbling in T Vernon's AVENGERS #398 while mysterious enemies lurk.

FANTASTIC FOUR #18 was the 1st appearance of the Super-Skrull.

Meanwhile in DRAX THE DESTROYER #4 Drax gets sent to the Kyln intergalactic prison ...
... which gets destroyed in the ANNIHILATION: PROLOGUE 1-shot along with the Nova Corps' HQ. And Super-Skrull hears of a threat to his people.

And in last week's new AVENGERS #36, the epilogue to the current series, Kang gets sent to the new version Kyln-2.

Plus JARVIS 2008 has popped up again with 3 No 1's. SPITFIRE & THE TROUBLESHOOTERS was the most ground-level of the New Universe titles. DINO RIDERS was based on a toy range and Marvel TV animation series. BRUTE FORCE wished it was that connected, but it's recently had a revival as an Infinity Comic.

Hulk Volumes 7–9: A Tribute to Sal Buscema and the Bronze Age Smash

Julio MM By Julio MM
January 23, 2026

The latest update brings together three new Hulk compilations — Volumes 7, 8, and 9 — covering an essential stretch of stories from 1974 to 1977. These collections gather material from The Incredible Hulk (1966), the Hulk Annual, various Defenders titles, and a variety of guest appearances across the Marvel Universe, including Fantastic Four, Thor, and Marvel Team-Up.

This period represents one of the most formative eras in Hulk history, and for me, it carries a deeply personal resonance. Many of the stories in these volumes were drawn by the legendary Sal Buscema, who sadly passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026. Sal wasn’t just another great Marvel artist — to me, he was the definitive Hulk artist. His energetic, expressive, unmistakably classic Marvel linework from the 70s and 80s shaped my love for comics and helped define how I see the character to this day.

These volumes are more than just archival collections. They’re a celebration of a creative voice whose impact still echoes through every thunderous leap and every clenched green fist. This update is shared in gratitude and admiration for Sal’s legacy, and in appreciation of the timeless stories he helped bring to life.

RIP, Sal.
