The Queen abdicates

August 21, 2017
In Iron news this week:-

In INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #10 Ironheart resigns as Queen of Latveria but not before making everything OK.

I've added more comments on Secret Empire tie-ins in SE #1,2,8.

In MIGHTY AVENGERS (2007) #24 the team go on a world tour of super-problem outbreaks, much to the annoyance of Norman Osborn.

And in IRON MAN (1968) #243 T Vernon shows us the effects of Tony Stark getting shot.

This is the 1st place the Staff of Legba is named, but it was in the last panel of last issue. And it will keep showing up in many later issues.

Invincible Iron Man (1968 series) #244

July 1989
By T: Comments: Special double-sized issue. Sole appearance of Tony Stark's former fiancee Joanna Nivena. Actress Brie Daniels appeared in issues #222 and 225; this is her final appearance. Clay Wilson, formerly Force, was rescued by Iron Man in issues #223-225. Comical moment: a hospital patient admits he can't stomach “that Downey character.” No, not Robert Jr.

New Avengers (2005 series) #51

March 2009
By Rob: The cover shows some of the characters who could be contenders for the role of Sorcerer Supreme. Clockwise from top left I see Brother Voodoo, Scarlet Witch (the real 1, not Loki impersonating her in Mighty Avengers), Clea, Hood, Dr Doom, Ghost Rider (I believe Johnny Blaze), Magik, Dormammu and Hellfire (of the Secret Warriors).

Madame Masque has been in Hood's gang from the beginning in #35 and became his 2nd in command by Annual #2.

Invincible Iron Man (2016 series) #10

Invincible Iron Man (2016 series) #10

August 2017
By Rob Johnson: The solicit said Ironheart would have trouble with the Tony Stark AI, and the cover seems to be based on that idea. But it didn't happen.

The letters page confirms that this stuff is pre-Secret Empire.

It seems like every other issue I try to make sense of the ordering of issues from this series and Infamous Iron Man.

Captain America (1968 series) #444

October 1995
By Peter: Comments: Preface to the following four-part story. The Avengers appearing here are Black Widow, Crystal, Deathcry, Giant-Man (Hank Pym), Hercules, and Quicksilver. The snarky reference to a Ford Bronco refers to O.J. Simpson's notorious police chase in 1992.

Captain America (1968 series) #446
