Synopsis / Summary / Plot

2099 Unlimited #3 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
A nuclear accident in the western desert sends a hundred thousand refuges heading toward the canal that separates California from the rest of the United States. Attempting to swim the treacherous waters, they are fired upon by the automated border patrol but suddenly Hulk appears as the protector of the helpless, destroying some guards and aiding those fleeing to safety. In a shocking moment the Water God rises from the canal, the creation of eco-terrorists with but one mission—protect the water from the parasites who would defile it. Hulk battles the watery giant but finds his blows useless against his liquid foe. Hulk then has an idea, and turns and runs toward the mountains, the Water God in wet pursuit. Hulk is cornered on a high cliff when his monstrous nemesis is frozen by the icy temperatures at that altitude. Hulk smashes his foe into ice chips and goes down to lead the refugees to a chance of hope in the new land.
