Synopsis

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II #4 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

In the jungle, Goliath fights frantically against the Adaptoid horde, constantly reminding himself that they are not human and that he is an Avenger….

At the main A.I.M. base, the other Avengers (Hawkeye, Vision, Black Panther, and Wasp) have located the central control of the base and neutralized the enemy. They contact Nick Fury to send in a cleanup team but sensors show that the Super-Adaptoid is no longer there. (But the reader knows the android has been watching from a distance and it swims away underwater.) Vision and Wasp go out into the jungle to find Goliath; he’s there, he destroyed all of the monsters but he is an emotional wreck.…

Back at Avengers Mansion, Hawkeye excuses himself while Hank asks to talk to Panther soon; T’Challa suggests that Jan keep an eye on Hank….

T’Challa returns to P.S. 75 as teacher Luke Charles and talks to the misfit Delroy who walks out of the classroom and is immediately slugged by the bullies….

Hawkeye and Vision foil a bank robbery but the police resent their interference while the crowd is afraid of the non-human Vision. Hawkeye stops off to troll the SHIELD agents keeping them under surveillance….

Agent Murch meets with Hank and Jan and takes every opportunity to express his disdain for the Avengers while impressing on them the importance of capturing the Super-Adaptoid….

Hank, troubled by dreams of the Adaptoids playing on his insecurities, heads out to the garage where his anger and frustration cause him to lash out releasing some chemicals. He inhales the gas and changes….

Review / Commentaries

Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II #4 Review by (April 8, 2020)

Review: Here we continue with the various themes: Hank Pym can’t hack destroying an army of Super-Adaptoids, no matter how silly they look so he freaks out, setting up his breakdown next time. T’Challa has his eye on a bullied kid, setting up what happens in issue #7. The citizenry hate Vision because he’s weird; Murch hates Vision because he hates all the Avengers, there’s a bank robbery just to supply some typical action, and now Hank cracks up. Jolly times.

Comments: Issues #1-4 take place immediately after the events of AVENGERS #58.
