Synopsis

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #6 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

Captain America (Sam Wilson) stands by at the United Nations as Jani Schonland, newly elected Prime Minister of Mohannda, addresses the Assembly. She outlines an ambitious plan of reparations, land restoration, and many other points to transform Mohannda into a paradise. After the speech, she chats with Cap about her goals and Sam is non-committal. Cap contacts Falcon who is doing a security scan of the building from outside. Cap suggests going back the way they came until Falcon can clear the route. An elderly man collapses in the street and Schonland recognizes him as her grandfather. A gas bomb explodes behind them so Cap takes action, scooping the Prime Minister up in his arms and flying away. They encounter two winged assassins and there is a brief battle, Cap taking down one of the bad guys. But then the other sets off a bomb, blasting Cap and Schonland who is mortally wounded. Back at the UN a man disguised as a paramedic jabs a needle into the back of Falcon’s neck….

Cap reports to Senator Mansfield who informs him that the assassin was a Mohanndan national. As Falcon lies near death, Cap vows to get the people responsible….

As the world news reports the death of Prime Minister Jani Schonland, the White Wolf watches ready to substitute his own plans….

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #6 Review by (October 19, 2022)

Review: Growing out of the previous story arc, this new one picks up matters in East Africa with White Wolf springing his new scheme to gain power in his homeland of Mohannda. The Prime Minister was a respectable character with ambitious plans for her country and it was a serious blow to her nation when she died. Anyway, once again Sam Cap looks like a failure in his dealings with Africa. We’ll see where this goes, with the return of a supporting character not seen in years.

Comments: The title “Pax Mohannda” is a variation on “Pax Romana,” the era of peace and prosperity enforced by the Roman Empire around the Mediterranean Sea in its day. Issue includes a tribute to the late Mike Pasciullo, Marvel marketing executive.
