Synopsis

Captain America (2012 series) #19 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3.5 stars

Captain America has boarded the hijacked new Helicarrier Gungnir only to see it come under attack by the rest of SHIELD’s forces. As he looks on in horror, the massive craft shoots down two other Helicarriers and several planes. Aboard Gungnir, Maria Hill is forced to watch the disaster by the Iron Nail, gloating over his plan to free the world from the tyranny of SHIELD. She tries to fight the villain but her mind is captured by Dr. Mindbubble. Cap searches the ship, fighting his way through several of the Iron Nail’s henchmen and blaming himself for the disaster by letting Nuke live…..

In New York, Jet Black watches the battle on television and takes a flying car to hurry to Cap’s side….

The Iron Nail (Ran Shen) and Dr Mindbubble (Horace Littleton) let the readers in on their scheme: demonstrating to the world that SHIELD is a fascist organization bent to controlling the world for America; destruction of the spy organization will bring harmony and liberation to the poorer nations. Cap overhears this and attacks in a rage; during the fight, Iron Nail transforms into a monster with a chitinous exoskeleton. As Cap continues to beat on the grotesque villain, Dr Mindbubble sends one of his thought bubbles over Cap’s head, bringing him over to their side….

Captain America (2012 series) #19 Review by (April 5, 2014)
Review: A lot of action and some philosophizing but the story does not advance very far since the last issue. Gotta take the good with the bad these days. Anyway, this ish seems more dragged out than most; this is all building up to something disastrous isn’t it? Stay tuned.
