Synopsis

Captain America #20 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3 stars

At a small airport on the outskirts of London, Crossbones and Sin prepare their vengeance against Aleksander Lukin by filling their small plane with explosives ready to send toward Kronas Headquarters on the night of the grand gala….

Elsewhere Captain America and Sharon Carter ponder what Lukin’s plan could be, and are concerned that MI5 is not taking the threat seriously enough.....

In the underground tunnel where Kronas has been storing mysterious materials, Bucky Barnes discovers something that shocks him to the core….

Steve and Jackie have a brief conversation in which she reveals that Sharon is in love with him….

The next night is the grand gala: Kronas HQ is lit up with searchlights and surrounded by small aircraft as part of the festivities. Cap and Sharon know that Kronas is not the target of the threat; it’s Lukin’s misdirection for his real plan. Cap’s eye falls on a blimp and he recognizes it as the most likely source of trouble. Aboard the craft, Master Man and his Neo-Nazi cronies are forcing the crew to divert the craft toward the House of Parliament. Captain America crashes through the window at this point, engaging his evil counterpart in battle. Spitfire makes a running leap to the airship carrying Union Jack. While Cap is occupied with the bad guys, he tells his allies to search for the bombs on board. Spitfire locates them but in a fight with a Nazi thug she accidentally sets the blimp on fire….

Bucky, in his Winter Soldier guise, takes aim at Lukin with a sniper rifle, but the villain’s smile unnerves him so that he hesitates….

Cap orders Spitfire and Union Jack to get the henchmen to safety while he pilots the burning blimp toward the Thames. Seizing Master Man in his arms, Cap dives for safety as the aircraft plunges into the river. Lukin and his guests then see a small plane heading straight for the penthouse where they are standing. Sin and Crossbones parachute out to await the explosion…that never comes. At the Red Skull’s behest, Lukin presses a button and the street outside shakes and crumbles. A massive metal figure rises from the ground and destroys the deadly plane with and energy blast. The latest Sleeper has awakened….
