Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Captain America #35 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
The Falcon locates the abandoned clinic Dr. Faustus was using as a base but the current crisis prevents them from following up any leads. In the aftermath of SHIELD agents under Faustus’ control opening fire on protestors at the White House, Senator Gordon Wright authorizes a private firm, Kane-Meyer, to provide security to American cities (at the secret bidding of the Red Skull). As angry mobs chant outside the White House and Kane-Meyer troops stand guard, Bucky Barnes observes the tense situation; Black Widow contacts him with the news that Kane-Meyer is owned by Kronas Corp—as is the company providing the bottled water to the crowd. Bucky sees how the riot is about to start. The drugged protestors, the mob mentality, the guards in the pay of the Red Skull—the spark touches off the anticipated confrontation. Bucky quickly dons his Captain America outfit and dives into the melee, protecting the protestors from the violence of the security guards. But what’s the point, he wonders? It must be a distraction for the Red Skull’s real plan…which comes with the report of a helicopter landing on the roof of the Capitol building. Cap races over and comes face-to-face with Sin and the Serpent Squad…. Meanwhile back at the enemy headquarters, Sharon Carter awakens to find herself restrained in a hospital bed: Arnim Zola knows she is pregnant.
