Incredible Hulk #109 Review by (June 30, 2015)
This issue parallels WWH#2. The confrontation between Amadeus Cho's Renegades and Hulk and his Warbound takes place across Hulk's battle with Ross's army and Dr Strange's attempt to calm him. The rest, and #110, happen as Hulk turns Madison Square Garden into an arena, before Dr Strange turns into Zom. Scorpion (Carmilla Black) is a SHIELD agent and possibly Initiative trainee who was involved with Hulk during House of M. She's here fresh from another WWH appearance in Heroes For Hire.

Incredible Hulk #109 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
Hercules, Angel, Amadeus Cho and a group of Hulk fanatics want to talk sense into the Hulk so he stops his vendetta madness. But the Hulk tells them to go away. Suddenly, US helicopters shoot the Hulk with Adamantium shrapnel that goes through him as though he were made of butter! The Hulk's amazingly fast healing factor kicks in to recover almost instantly and he jumps at the copters to crash them one by one.

As this was happening, Korg, Elloe and Bug heevlings land near Amadeus, just when a missile is sent their way. The boy genius uses his superb calculations to hit the missile with a piece of shrapnel that makes it change its course, saving himself and the aliens. Korg and Elloe recognize they were saved by a "puny" human just as Namora saves them from a second missile. Then Korg and Hercules join forces to hold a falling building, which is later shattered by Heroim's blow. The Warbound learn that Amadeus and his group (Hercules, Namora and Angel) are on their side, and decide to stop hostilities. Amadeus introduces his group as the Renegades.

Meanwhile the Scorpion, agent of SHIELD, intercepts Rick Jones and Commander Gabriel Jones asks Rick to help SHIELD by calming the Hulk down. On the streets, the Hulk defeats Thunderbolt Ross. A Warhead soldier takes him captive. Suddenly a jet drops a second bomb with Adamantium shrapnel. Namora and Angel fly to stop it. But fearing the loss of another friend, the Hulk acts heroically and pushes them away to grab the bomb as it detonates. The Hulk lands heavily injured but almost instantly heals and walks away, asking Amadeus Cho and Rick Jones to leave him alone. Hiroim points out that they should respect the Hulk's wishes since he just saved their lives and warns that anyone following the Hulk is doomed, and will surely die.

As the highest officer on ground, Gabriel Jones asks Rick to follow the Hulk, and asks Amadeus to stay and help prevent a total disaster that could be caused by gas explosions, flooding, electrical fires, chemical spills or structural collapses due to the repercussion of the strong battles. The boy genius' first reaction was to follow the Hulk, but he stays to help secure the city. Rick leaves to find the Hulk but there's no word from him. As Gabriel witnesses how the Hulk builds an arena in the Madison Square Garden, he asks Amadeus to go and try putting some sense into the Hulk. Before leaving, Amadeus gives his group a beeper which will sound in case the Hulk has lost it. In such case, they should move the civilians to safety, and leave, don't rescue him. Hercules speaks for the group saying that even though Amadeus tricked them, and they lost friends or fortunes for following him, they're glad because they did it for the good reasons. The four put their hands together as a new group is formed.

As Amadeus runs toward the arena, Scorpion clears his way of Pinkies who try stopping him. When they reach the subterranean floor of the arena, they see Warhead soldiers applying Obedience Disks to General Ross. The other captives are: Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Doc Samson, Ms. Marvel, Storm, the Thing, Invisible Woman, She-Hulk, Mr. Fantastic, the Human Torch, Black Panther, and Tony Stark (Iron Man). Mr. Fantastic explains to Amadeus what the Obedience Disks are used for and Tony Stark tells Amadeus that is ALL up to him to stop the Hulk or he will kill all the heroes there. Amadeus can't believe the Hulk is a killer. "Wanna bet?" says the Hulk coming from behind!
