Marvel Feature #8 Review by (November 21, 2023)

Review: Actually by Peter Silvestro. The Dreaded Deadline Doom! A frequent malady at Marvel in the seventies, when an artist couldn’t get his work in on time, the company was forced to throw in a reprint or a story from the Vault, with or without some framing material to sort of keep it in context. Well, that’s what we have: a reprint of a classic story with three pages of new material that leaves us at exactly the same point we came in on. For a reprint that is a thing of beauty.

Comments: Also by Peter SilvestroMike Friedrich, P. Craig Russell/Jim Starlin, Jim Janes, and Anette Kawecki are credited with the framing material. The credits for the reprinted section can be found with the original (click the link).

Marvel Feature #8 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

A chemical reaction within her causes Wasp to mutate into a human-wasp hybrid intent on killing Ant-Man. Hank flees from her through the underbrush when he falls into a tiny ravine and is knocked on the head causing his mind to range back over his first meeting with Janet Van Dyne and her origin as the wonderful Wasp…

And here we have the relevant pages of the classic TALES TO ASTONISH #44 reprinted….
