Savage Avengers #15 Review by (December 4, 2020)
How much longer can this Kulan Gath storyline last? After next issue, #17-18 are tie-ins to the King In Black event but they're only an interlude.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Savage Avengers #15 Synopsis by Rob Johnson
In #12-13 Dr Strange gathered together most of the heroes who'd fought against Kulan Gath in previous issues of this title. Last issue he sent Conan and Magik to get another Eye Of Agamotto off the Asgardian dragon Sadurang. They recruited Black Knight and Juggernaut to help them.

Black Widow, Daimon Hellstrom, Elektra and Wolverine set out to kill as many of Gath's minions as they could. 1st they intended to add another of his enemies, Punisher, to their group. It seems they succeeded.

In Ramirez, Veracruz, the last 4 policemen are barricaded in the police station surrounded by people transformed into avatars of Shuma-Gorath. But as 1 of them breaks in he is killed from behind, and our 5 heroes stand on the slaughtered bodies of the rest. The cops relate how a robed death cult has taken over the mansion of the local drug cartel. They've poisoned the drugs which turn the users into the Shuma-Goraths who then flock to the mansion. Elektra tells them to come to the mansion at dawn. By then they will have finished and the cops should burn the house and corpses.

Our 5 invade the grounds, killing as they go. They are met in front of the house by a horde of robed acolytes with sickle weapons, ready to die for the Priest Of Sickles and Kulan Gath. Punisher and Wolverine stay to oblige them while the other 3 go inside. They find 2 robed guys forcing semi-naked women in facemasks to package up the drugs. Natasha Romanoff unzips a lot of cleavage as a distraction and says the Master has sent her to them as a reward. But Elektra didn't need the distraction as she stabs them through the heart them with sais from behind. They tell the women to take all the money they can find and flee.

An acolyte tells the Priest Of Sickles that the enemy are here, and the Priest kills the messenger and then goes to confront them. Daimon tells him he should have died long ago (for WWII war crimes but Gath gave him power as the Sickle Priest as described in #2). So now he blasts him with Hellfire. But totally aflame he still attacks the 3. They try to make him tell them where Gath is but unsuccessfully, and he stabs Daimon in the chest and throws him out of a window. Widow throws him into position and Elektra pins him to a wall with thrown sais through the wrists. Then they call on Frank Castle and Logan.

Punisher enters and fills the Priest with a hail of lead, in revenge for digging up the corpses of Frank's family as bait (#1). He's still not dead, even after Wolverine punches through the wall behind him and stabs him through the chest. Logan drags him outside and gives him 1 last chance to tell them what they want to know. Then he feeds him through a large wood chipper. And Hellstrom burns the remains.

The freed women leave with cash and jewelry and a pet leopard. And Logan replaces his shredded costume with clothes from the mansion, and grabs a couple of bottles of tequila too.

Before we go we look in on the other team. Black Knight, Conan and Juggernaut are down, and only Magik is left to oppose Sadurang.
