Synopsis

Tales of Suspense #104 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

The Black Widow returns to the Red Room bearing Winter Soldier's cyborg arm and Hawkeye's broken bow to prove she has killed them. She is promoted to Commander and put to training young ballerinas in the ways of assassins. Meanwhile, Clint and Bucky are trapped in the panic room of the building Natasha destroyed to fake their deaths. After a lot of hard work they finally make their way out to be met by firefighters. Clint reveals he has a tracking device in his bow and they follow the signal to a secret house set up by Natasha where they find Sally "Skids" Blevins (hidden since her apparent death) and Ursa Major. When Bucky, Clint and the bear arrive at the Red Room HQ, Natasha springs her trap and starts killing the Red Room operatives. Clint and Bucky go through the building, the latter shooting all of the guards while Clint tries his best not to be beaten by a room full of ballerinas. They finally reach a room where Black Widow is fighting a small army of clones of herself and she tells the guys to help her kill them all, putting an end to the Red Room program for replacing its agents. The last of the Red Room forces arrive and fire upon the heroes; Natasha opens the door that admits Ursa Major and the ballerinas and the enemy is wiped out. Natasha takes clones of Yelena Belova and Anya/Orphan Maker and has Epsilon Red give them all of their memories back and then she sets the psychic free by killing him. The two guys carry the clones out; Black Widow goes back inside to blow the place up, keeping the secrets out of everyone's hands and vanishes....

As the firefighters try to bring the mess under control, Sally tells the two guys they are idiots. A fireman brings the guys letters he has found addressed to them. Clint's is an apology from Natasha and a tearful farewell, asking him not to follow her. Bucky's is a note asking him to meet with her if he wants to join her for her next mission. The guys do not reveal the contents to one another....
