Synopsis

Tales of Suspense (2017 series) #103 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

The Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, recalls being killed by Captain America and then she awakens on a beach, a bear (actually Soviet hero Ursa Major) explaining that it is to calm her after her trauma. She drops into the real world where Alexander Cady brings her to the Red Room leaders who have a mission for her: killing off their enemies, SHIELD, Hydra, and former Red Room personnel....

Returning secretly to the Red Room HQ, Natasha enters a secret lab where she discovers bodies are being grown in vats, Yelena's, Anya's, and her own. Nearby, psychic agent Epsilon Red is waiting to give back an edited version of their memories and Cady explains this is the Red Room of the future. Later, Ursa Major tells Natasha that he bribed Epsilon Red into giving her back her full memory because he wants her to destroy all of this madness....

When the Black Widow is given orders to kill the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye plus former SHIELD Agent Sally “Skids” Blevins, she takes a mindless duplicate of Yelena Belova and substitutes it for Sally in her car just before it is blown up. When she discovers that Clint and Bucky had spotted her on the bridge, she outfits another Belova clone to take her place and be caught by the two men, later killing the Belova duplicate and Alexander Cady. When her handlers panic, she assures them she can take care of the Winter Soldier. And now here she is on a rooftop with Bucky and Clint: there is a fast battle, she breaks Hawkeye's bow and flees, They follow her through a darkened building until they reach a panic room; the door closes, breaking Bucky's metal arm off and then the building explodes....
