Story
continued from HULK #7.
The
Hulked-out Thor tears the Celestial Hulkbuster armor to pieces, leaving Tony Stark
helpless. Only the timely arrival of Hulk saves him but Bruce Banner is
no longer in control of Starship Hulk. Hulk and Thor go at it, causing massive
mayhem. Bruce and Odin can only observe quietly from inside Hulk’s psyche;
Bruce has an idea. The ravens Hugin and Munin arrive and address Tony and as
Thor comes crashing down toward him, Sif teleports him to the Rainbow Bridge
for safety. Her plan is to bring Thor home where he can be cared for but
something goes wrong: when Sif tries to use the Bridge to teleport Thor to Asgard,
Thor rebels. The green God of Thunder resists and then smashes the Bridge,
causing it to shatter all the way to Asgard, with Tony having to pull Sif to
safety….
Bruce
explains his plan to Odin, which requires the former All-Father’s help. Bruce
explains that Thor has been possessed by the mysterious entity which turned
Banner into a murderous monster in El Paso. Soon, Mjolnir comes hurtling into
the battle. Thor reaches out for it but the hammer keeps going, breaking Thor’s
arm and landing in Hulk’s palm. Hulk strikes it on the ground and is
transformed into Thor and he attacks. When Thor’s green fist connects with the
Hulk-wielded Mjolnir, the ensuing explosion destroys the planet….
