Meanwhile, in Asgard, the Recorder, visiting Odin, receives a signal mentioning Galactus and summoning him to Rigel.

In space, a Taurian attacks Tana Nile's spaceship. Thor and Tana defeat him. He explains that he was crazed, seeking a ship, after Galactus destroyed his world. In the Zone of Destruction, Thor sees dozens of refugee ships, fleeing Galactus' attacks.

Meanwhile, Galactus senses a vast intelligence in the Black Galaxy and discovers Ego, the Living Planet.

On Rigel, the Gran Commissioner sends Thor and the Recorder in a spacecraft after Galactus. The Wanderers, Galactus' first victims, follow the Recorder's spacecraft, seeking revenge against Galactus.

In the Black Galaxy, Ego and Galactus wage a cataclysmic battle that shatters the Recorder's spacecraft, leaving Thor and the Recorder to drift in the vacuum of space.
