Synopsis

Thor (1966 series) #352 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 5 stars

On the threshold of Asgard, Surtur faces Odin in sight of the Eternal Flame which he is seeking. Mere proximity to it is already increasing his power but Odin unleashes the Odin-Power gained though his brothers’ deaths at the hands of the Demon (see issue #349)….

In New York, Sif and Harokin lead the warriors of Valhalla in a bid to capture the Warp Gate atop the Empire State Building to stop the influx of demon reinforcements. As the demons pour through, Harokin leads his men in seeming retreat between the Twin Towers—and the trap is sprung, Tyr and the Executioner assault the enemy from all sides. Beta Ray Bill and Reed Richards manage to shut off the gate but the Lady Sif is missing in action. Learning from a captured demon that Surtur’s forces are encamped in the Sahara Desert, Bill leads his warriors through the Warp Gate to battle them on their own ground….

In England, the Human Torch delivers Roger Willis to the domain of the Dark Elves, there to reassemble the broken Casket of Ancient Winters and end the deadly storm….

The children of Asgard, halted on the bridge by a deadly troll, lay plans to defeat their foe….

In Asgard, Surtur draws on the power of Ancient Winters to freeze Odin into a block of ice. The Demon Lord then strides forward to kindle his sword Twilight in fires of the Eternal Flame….

Review / Commentaries

Thor (1966 series) #352 Review by (November 19, 2013)
Review: Simply one of the greatest story arcs in Thor history. ‘Nuff said.

Comments: Part four of five parts. Thor does not appear in this issue (!), having been clobbered by Surtur last issue. Captain Marvel is back but Starfox and Vision are now missing. Vision and someone who appears to be Colossus of the X-Men are on the cover but do not appear inside.
