Synopsis

Thor (1966 series) #351 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 5 stars

Thor and Beta Ray Bill are leading the heroes of Asgard against the forces of Surtur in the streets of New York. Thor leaves to pursue the Demon Lord across the Rainbow Bridge to Asgard. Reed Richards sees that the demons are creating a Doom Tube atop the Empire State Building to teleport in reinforcements….

In the land of the Norn Queen, Balder responds to Karnilla’s demand that he submit to her by laughing in her face then kissing her. Frigga and the children of Asgard, heading to safety through a mountain pass, come face-to-face with a troll.

Roger Willis arrives and tells Bill that if he can reconstruct the Casket of Ancient Winters, it will end the deadly weather. The Human Torch is dispatched to fly him to England in Reed’s new spaceship. The U.S Army arrives to back up the heroes, along with Harokin, leading the forces of Valhalla. Sif leads Harokin and his warriors against the Doom Tube….

Surtur crosses the Rainbow Bridge and easily defeats the guardian Heimdall, and then he smashes the Bridge. Thor arrives and engages the powerful enemy but he also cannot overcome the demonic foe and the God of Thunder falls. Then, on the threshold of Asgard, Surtur faces Odin himself….

Review / Commentaries

Thor (1966 series) #351 Review by (November 12, 2013)
Review: More excitement as the battle rages and heroes do heroic things. The Doom Tube is a little close to DC’s Boom Tube (a Kirby creation) for comfort but if DC hasn’t heard of it by now, I’m not going to tell them.

Comments: Part three of five parts. Scarlet Witch, Wasp, and Captain Marvel, along with the Enchantress, fighting alongside the heroes last issue, are not seen in this issue; on the other hand, Mr Fantastic, the Human Torch, and the Vision have arrived.
