Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Ultimates #6 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
As New York recovers from the devastation and carnage of Hulk's rampage, the Ultimates are seen as heroes by the public-once the Hulk's connection to Bruce Banner is hushed-up, of course. Tony Stark invites his teammates to dinner: Steve and Thor arrive but Hank and Jan are involved in an argument about Hank's ego that turns violent and results in Hank savagely beating his wife. Meanwhile, Thor explains his knowledge of his identity as the Norse Messiah and declines a permanent position in the Ultimates, saying that it would condone the actions of the military-industrial complex which he righteously opposes (but says he will come if there is a major life-threatening problem). When asked why he adventures as Iron Man, Tony reveals that he has an inoperable brain tumor and wants to do all the good he can in the time he has left. Tony then presents Steve with a gift: his original Captain America helmet from World War II. They then drink a toast to their absent friends, Hank, Jan and Bruce. Meanwhile, Hank Pym sits alone in his misery, regretting what he's done...
