Captain America #1 Review by (February 15, 2010)
During their conversation, Sharon asks Steve if he had asked Fury to join the space program. Steve says not exactly, but he felt guilty for the men who died trying to reach the stars, risks he should have taken, not them, because that's what he was built for. Sharon replies "Boy, talk about carrying the weight of the world. You truly are one of a kind, Stever Rogers."

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Captain America #1 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
Five years ago, communist General Lukin sold secret weapons stored in a secret Russian warehouse to the Red Skull, who also showed interest in a man trapped in a capsule that according to Lukin was used against the U.S. during the cold war. Lukin offered to trade the man for the Cosmic Cube, but the Red Skull who was still looking for that Cube, refused the offer.

Back in the present day, we learn that SHIELD agent Sharon Carter was appointed liaison over Steve Rogers, aka Captain America; they used to be lovers. Sharon worries about Rogers' more violent behavior of late (during a last week incident, Cap soundly defeated terrorists who were to blow a dirty bomb on Coney Island, killing two, and putting one into a comma).

Rogers blames his behavior on the Red Skull's recent escape from prison. SHIELD discovered that the terrorists were from a defunct branch from AIM, but their motive is still unknown.

As Roger watches Manhattan from his new secret hide out (provided by SHIELD), wondering where the Red Skull might been, the Red Skull is also watching the city from another location. The villain is aware of Cap's whereabouts, but plans a slow death for Cap, preceded by events that that would make him suffer like never before.

The phone rings, it's Lukin who wants the Cosmic Cube, now in possession of the Red Skull. The Red Skull again refuses to give it away. A sniper bullet goes through the window, killing the Red Skull. The sniper appears, confirms his death to Lukin, and grabs the Cosmic Cube.
