Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #6 Review by (October 7, 2017)
Comments: The title of the story emphasizes that the Beyond Corporation was first seen in the non-continuity NEXTWAVE: AGENTS OF HATE, which explains Spectrum/Monica's confusion. The only previous appearances of W.E.S.P.E. were in MIGHTY AVENGERS (2013 series) #4 and 8. Quantrell mentions Elisha Gray, the forgotten inventor of the telephone.

Captain America and the Mighty Avengers #6 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Flashback: Jason Quantrell, looking for a hot new product for his Cortex Corporation, hires the nihilist terrorists W.E.S.P.E. to build a portal to another world. They succeeded...

...allowing the weird beings from Beyond to take over Quantrell''s body for the purposes of having some fun in this new world. The Beyond being then teleports Luke Cage and Jessica Jones out to orbit the Moon....

Back on Earth, Captain America (Sam Wilson), She-Hulk, and Kaluu, seeking their missing comrades, encounter four mutated monsters. Two are the villains Quickfire and Gideon Mace; after a few moments of fighting the Avengers realize that the other two are White Tiger and Power Man. During the battle, She-Hulk is clawed by Quickfire and mutates into a monster. Trying to save he, Kaluu is bitten by Jen and in turn becomes a monster. Alone against them, Cap stands ready to fight....

In space, Jessica manages to reach her Avengers signal and press it. At his underwater base, Blue Marvel receives the signal and hurries to his space portal where he jumps through to space and rescues Luke and Jessica. In the medical bay, Jessica tells them about Beyond. It opens up strange memories in Spectrum's mind, what she recalls from her grim experiences with NextWave—experiences she had been told never happened. Now she is angry and ready to fight....
