Follows AVENGERS #345

The first Avengers diplomatic team heads through the stargate to emerge in the Kree galaxy. They immediately encounter a massive space station and enter to find it empty. As Iron Man attempts to hack into the Kree computer system, the station is assaulted by a team of Shi’ar commandos. As the other Avengers battle the invaders, Iron Man discovers that Kree enforcement agents are on their way as well. Against Captain America’s orders, Shellhead jets out into space to battle Shatterax, agent of the Supreme Intelligence’s Starforce. With their distinctive armors, the antagonists are evenly matched and the duel is inconclusive—until the rest of the Kree force arrives. Iron Man then surrenders on behalf of the team, much to Cap’s annoyance….

Review / Commentaries

Iron Man (1968 series) #278 Review by (February 14, 2014)
Review: Iron Man a bad-tempered loose cannon? Seems odd but maybe it was in character for the title at this time. Still, he gets to work some high-tech wonders and battle a powerful villain, showcasing him in this episode of the epic and that’s all right. The epic as a whole? One of the best multi-comic crossovers, marked by a complex story, tight plotting, strong characterization, and consistent quality. And it actually tries to mean something in the end!

Comments: Part 6 of Operation Galactic Storm.
