Synopsis / Summary / Plot
New York City, USA... We see the Hulk battling a giant robot driven by Terminus. The Hulk defeats him by smashing his lance and the power feedback destroys the robot leaving Terminus unconscious. Then the Hulk, Rick Jones and Monkey are magically swept away...
Near the undersea city of Atlantis (in the Atlantic ocean)... We see Namor battling Attuma and his army. Namor delivers the crushing blow and defeats Attuma. Then Namor is magically swept away...
20,000 feet over Kauai, Hawaii... We see the Silver Surfer flying on his board thinking about how beautiful the Earth is. Then he is magically swept away...
Deep in the Himalayan Mountains... We see the Hulk, Rick, Monkey, the Silver Surfer and Namor appear in front of who brought them there... Dr. Strange! Dr. Strange informs everyone that he brought them to fight a being who can conquer the world, only known as "The Nameless One". The Nameless One is a two-headed being once banished to another realm. Namor refuses to help and the Silver Surfer and Dr. Strange try to convince him, while the Hulk walks off by himself bored. Hulk changes back into Bruce Banner. Rick finds Bruce and tells him what's going on.
The Nameless One comes through a "Stargate" with his minions and Bruce tells Rick to get the others. Bruce transforms into the Hulk and starts to battle the Nameless One. The others show up and they attack the minions. Rick realizes that the only way he can help is to smash the orb on the door of the Stargate. Rick smashes it and the Stargate opens and Hulk forces the Nameless One back to his own realm.
Dr. Strange names their group the "Defenders" and suggests they form a team. Namor says he's not interested. Surfer says if the need arises again he'd help out. Rick says he knows that they'd do it again if they had to. Everyone leaves for home.
